Megumi no Yu
恵みの湯
Opened in 1996, this day-use bathhouse in Kakamigahara, Gifu, runs its own medicinal-herb farm growing 20-50 species by season. Its high-temperature sauna, among the largest in the prefecture, uses Finnish-style loyly, with herbs harvested from the farm applied as "Totonoi Nama Herb Loyly" in both the men's and women's sauna rooms. Rosemary, sage, chamomile and other seasonal herbs are used, and at peak harvest a participatory version lets guests pour the herbs themselves. The lukewarm "Nemuri-yu" bath is dedicated to herbs.
